The Witching Hour

This is a term that most of us have heard and it's usually used to indicate trouble or something unpleasant. This hasn't been sitting right with me so I channeled my first line profile 1 and did some research.

The Witching Hour was a phrase originally coined by the Catholic Church as a reason to institute a curfew.

They didn't want devout members outside at a time when witches and the devil were said to be most active.

As I suspected this phrase with a negative connotation was created by (one of) the most patriarchal institutions ever.

So let's reclaim it for good!

Let's create our own personal Witching Hours. The time in our lives where we stop taking sh!t from other people. The time when we stop letting old, outdated societal constructs hold us back. The time when we let go of the shoulds and start following our own intuitive desires.

Witches are only regarded as scary because they challenge the patriarchal status quo.

To me that sounds like a good thing.

Using my definition, what does your Witching Hour look like? What's one thing you can do today to make that happen?
